Beyond the Research

I enjoy being active and outdoors and some of my favorite activities include walking my dog, running, hiking, and most recently I have taken up biking. I am an avid runner, having run several 10Ks and half marathons and hope to run a full marathon one day. I enjoy traveling and exploring the food, culture, and places that make each place unique. I am into keeping up with college sports, catching a Clemson football game (Go Tigers!), and I am looking forward to UVa basketball games this season (Go Hoos!).

I am passionate about giving back to the community whether I am doing a service project on a spring break mission trip or helping to teach K-12 students about engineering. Serving the communities I am a part of which have helped me in my personal and professional journey is important to me. It has been a joy to serve on the HFES diversity committee helping to plan the panel on diversity, inclusion, and social justice at the HFES annual meeting as well as getting involved in my department's graduate student council at UVA.
